Hey Alfie referral code: the offer explained

Last updated: 5 August 2026

The short version. There is no Hey Alfie referral code to type in, because the offer travels through a link instead. Join through ours, then Hey Alfie gives you your own link, and you earn £20 in app credit every time a friend books a job. Joining costs nothing.

Below you will also find what membership costs, how the workmanship guarantee works, and where the app falls short. All figures come from Hey Alfie's published pages and its Companies House record, checked on 5 August 2026.

What the Hey Alfie referral code gets you

Hey Alfie runs a straightforward scheme. For each successful referral, the referrer receives £20 in Hey Alfie credit, and the company publishes no cap on how many you can earn. Credit then goes towards booked jobs rather than cash in your account.

Three conditions matter before you get excited. Firstly, credit cannot be exchanged for cash or moved between accounts. Secondly, it expires two years after you receive it. Thirdly, your balance caps at £240 or 24 hours of tradesperson time, so hoarding it makes little sense.

How to use the Hey Alfie referral code

The process takes about two minutes, and there is no code to copy.

  • Open the app through a referral link, such as the one on this page.
  • Create your account and add your property details.
  • Find your own Hey Alfie referral link inside the app once you are in.
  • Share it, then collect £20 in credit each time someone books through it.

What is Hey Alfie?

Hey Alfie is a chat-first app for UK homeowners. Rather than scrolling a directory of trades, you message it about the problem, and it works out what you actually need. The company calls itself "your personal AI property manager", not a marketplace, because it manages the job rather than simply listing names.

Behind the app sits Hey Alfie UK Limited, incorporated on 24 March 2024 and registered at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London. You can check it yourself on the Companies House register. It remains a young business, so treat it as an early-stage service rather than an established name.

How the app works

The flow runs in three steps, and it takes minutes rather than an afternoon.

  • Describe the problem. Send a message, a photo, or both. "No heating" is enough to start.
  • Get a diagnosis. Alfie either talks you through a DIY fix or decides the job needs a professional.
  • Compare and book. You receive up to three quotes from vetted tradespeople, usually within 24 hours, then Alfie handles the booking.

Covered trades include plumbing, electrical work, gas engineering, roofing, air conditioning, gardening, and general handyman jobs. Meanwhile the app stores manuals, warranties, and property documents in one place, which is quietly the most useful bit if you have ever hunted for a boiler manual mid-emergency.

What Hey Alfie costs

The basic version is free. You can request quotes, get guidance, and store documents without paying anything. Premium membership then adds monthly credit and a bigger guarantee.

  • Gold: £39.99 a month, or £33.33 a month billed yearly. Includes 30 minutes of tradespeople every month, rolling over up to 12 hours, plus 5% back in credit on jobs.
  • Platinum: £69.99 a month, or £58.33 a month billed yearly. Includes one hour of tradespeople every month, rolling over up to 24 hours, plus the same 5% back.

Membership only pays for itself if you genuinely use those included hours. Otherwise the free tier plus a Hey Alfie referral code link does most of the same work for nothing.

The Hey Alfie guarantee

Every booking made through the platform carries a workmanship guarantee. If the original tradesperson does not put things right, Hey Alfie arranges and pays for another one to rectify the work.

  • Free accounts: up to £1,000 including VAT
  • Gold members: up to £2,500
  • Platinum members: up to £5,000

Claims must land within three months of the work finishing, and you need the job reference plus photos. However, the exclusions run wide: scope changes, wear and tear, property damage, personal injury, theft, and anything arranged off-platform all sit outside it. Read the full terms before you rely on it.

What we like

Above all, the quote comparison saves real time. Three quotes inside a day beats ringing round six numbers and waiting for two to call back. Also, the diagnosis step occasionally saves the call-out entirely, which is the opposite of what a lead-generation site wants you to do.

The document vault deserves a mention too. Manuals, service records, and warranties in one searchable place makes selling or remortgaging noticeably less painful. If you are tightening things up around the house anyway, our guide to cutting household bills in the UK pairs well with it.

Limitations worth knowing

Firstly, Hey Alfie is an intermediary. Its terms state plainly that it "is not a party to any such contract" between you and the tradesperson, and it is "not responsible for the quality, standard, or delivery offered by a third party tradesperson". So the guarantee is a goodwill backstop, not a warranty from the person doing the work.

Secondly, coverage is not published by area. Quote availability in a rural postcode may look very different to central London. Thirdly, the company is young, with its first accounts filed to 31 March 2025. For gas work in particular, still check the engineer on the Gas Safe Register yourself.

If you want cover for breakdowns rather than one-off jobs, a boiler and home cover plan such as Hometree answers a different question entirely.

Hey Alfie referral code FAQs

Is there a Hey Alfie discount code?

No. Hey Alfie does not publish a promo or discount code, and anyone claiming otherwise is guessing. The referral scheme is the only published offer, and it works through a link rather than a code.

Where do I find my own Hey Alfie referral code?

Inside the app, once your account is set up. Hey Alfie generates a personal referral link for each user, which you then share however you like.

How much is the Hey Alfie referral bonus?

Hey Alfie pays £20 in app credit for each successful referral, with no stated limit. Credit expires after two years and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Is Hey Alfie free to use?

Yes. The basic version costs nothing, and it covers quotes, guidance, and document storage. Premium membership is optional and starts at £33.33 a month on the yearly Gold plan.

How quickly do quotes arrive?

Hey Alfie says you get up to three competitive quotes "usually within 24 hours, often faster". Naturally, response times vary by trade, job size, and location.

Can I cancel a Hey Alfie membership?

Yes. Consumer Contracts regulations give you a 14-day cancellation right. However, Hey Alfie may deduct a proportionate amount for any service supplied during those 14 days.
