Quick summary: My Taxfix discount code takes up to 35% off a UK accountant preparing and filing your Self Assessment tax return. Taxfix is the company that used to trade as TaxScouts. Through my referral link, the three plans show at £97, £129 and £324, against standard one-off prices of £169, £249 and £499. The discount is for new customers buying an annual plan, and the code is STIVEN266 if the checkout asks for one.
Taxfix is an online service that matches you with a UK accountant, who then prepares your Self Assessment return, checks it and files it with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). The referral discount comes off your first Taxfix UK purchase. On my link, Taxfix’s own landing page shows 35% off for new customers who buy an annual plan.
The word “up to” matters here. Taxfix’s new customer discount terms say the referral percentage varies by referral source and may not apply to every service. So the total on your checkout screen is the figure to trust, not any number quoted elsewhere.
I checked these prices on Taxfix’s website on 18 October 2026. The discounted figures are the ones my referral page shows for an annual plan, and the standard figures are Taxfix’s one-off prices without any discount.
| Plan | Standard one-off price | With my referral link |
|---|---|---|
| Prepared & Filed Accurately | £169 | £97 |
| Filed, Optimised & Protected | £249 | £129 |
| Filed + a Year-Round Tax Partner | £499 | £324 |
Prepared & Filed Accurately is the entry plan. An accountant prepares and files your return, it carries Taxfix’s Accuracy Guarantee, and you can message your accountant while they work on it. Taxfix pitches it at people whose tax situation is straightforward.
Filed, Optimised & Protected adds a consultation call that looks for deductions and reliefs you could claim. It also adds support with HMRC audits and letters, plus registration for a Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR), the number you need before you can file. Taxfix says most of its customers choose this one.
Filed + a Year-Round Tax Partner keeps an accountant on hand all year. On top of everything above, it includes year-round messaging and calls, an annual tax efficiency review, and HMRC agent representation, which means the accountant deals with HMRC on your behalf.
Because the annual plan renews, put a reminder in your calendar four weeks before the renewal date. That gives you time to decide whether you want Taxfix again next year.
That depends on how comfortable you are filing yourself. Filing directly with HMRC online costs nothing, and for a simple return with one source of income it is manageable. However, a return with self-employed income, rental income, investments or more than one type of expense takes longer, and mistakes can cost money.
In that case, paying £97 for an accountant to prepare and file it makes sense. For comparison, I set out how Taxfix stacks up against a do-it-yourself tool in my Taxfix vs GoSimpleTax comparison. Meanwhile, my full Taxfix review covers what using the service is actually like.
According to Taxfix, its accountants are all UK-based. It says it hand-vets a group of about 150, that all of them have at least five years in the industry, and that most run their own practice. Taxfix also says they are accredited by the major UK accounting bodies and go through regular quality audits.
On reviews, Taxfix quotes 4.8 out of 5 from more than 6,500 UK reviews on Trustpilot. Its Accuracy Guarantee promises that if your return is not filed correctly, Taxfix fixes it at no extra cost, subject to its terms.
A Taxfix discount code does not move any HMRC deadline. For the 2025/26 tax year, paper returns are due by 31 October 2026 and online returns by 31 January 2027, which is also when the tax bill is due. An accountant still needs time to prepare the return, so starting well before January avoids a rush. The full list is on GOV.UK’s Self Assessment deadlines page, and my last minute tax return guide covers what to do if the deadline is only days away.
Taxfix also sells Making Tax Digital software for landlords and sole traders, with the first three months free. Making Tax Digital for Income Tax started on 6 April 2026 for people whose qualifying income was over £50,000. Even so, everyone filing for 2025/26 still sends a normal Self Assessment return. My end of year tax return guide explains what the return covers.
The code is STIVEN266, and my referral link at taxfix.com/en-uk/i/STIVEN266 already carries it. It gives new customers up to 35% off an annual plan.
Through my referral link the plans show at £97, £129 and £324. Without a discount, the one-off prices are £169, £249 and £499. I checked these prices on 18 October 2026, and Taxfix can change them, so trust the total at checkout.
Yes. TaxScouts joined Taxfix and now trades under the Taxfix name. If you bought from TaxScouts before, you count as an existing customer and do not get the new customer discount.
The discount needs the annual plan, which is a subscription. You get the same service as the one-off purchase, and you can cancel any time before the renewal date.
No. Taxfix’s terms say each discount covers one service per customer and cannot be combined with other offers or promotions.
Yes. Filing online directly with HMRC is free, but you do all the work yourself. Taxfix is for people who would rather pay an accountant to prepare and file it.
