What the Always Pan 2.0 is
The Always Pan is Our Place's best-known product, and the 2.0 is the current version of its ceramic nonstick pan. Our Place now sells it on its UK site as the Ceramic Nonstick Always Pan, in 20cm, 26cm and 30cm sizes.
Our Place says it does the work of ten pieces of kitchen kit. It braises, sears, steams, strains, sautés, fries, boils, bakes, serves and stores. The steamer basket doubles as a colander, and the beechwood spatula rests on the handle.
For a pan with no coating at all, Our Place also makes the Titanium Always Pan Pro, which costs more.
What the Always Pan 2.0 does
- Nonstick cooking: the Thermakind ceramic coating is made without PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, lead or cadmium, according to Our Place.
- Steaming and draining: the steamer basket sits inside the pan and works as a colander.
- Lid control: the modular lid either holds steam in or lets it out.
- Oven use: the pan is oven safe up to 230°C, so you can finish a dish in the oven.
- Fast heating: the body is recycled aluminium, which Our Place says heats three times faster than stainless steel.

The limits
Ceramic nonstick coatings wear over time. Our Place tells you to cook on low to medium heat, never heat the pan empty and use wooden or silicone utensils, so the coating lasts longer.
Avoid aerosol cooking sprays, which Our Place says damage the coating.
The 230°C oven limit is lower than the Titanium Always Pan Pro's. If you often roast at high heat, the Pro is the better match.
At 1.36kg for the body alone, it is heavier than a basic nonstick frying pan, so tossing food one-handed takes some effort.
