Stellar Profile set: three draining saucepans with glass lids, a lidded 24cm sauté pan and a 20cm non-stick frying pan

Stellar Profile 5 Piece Draining Saucepan Set with Sauté Pan

Last updated: 28 October 2026

This Stellar saucepan set pairs three 18/10 stainless steel draining saucepans with a lidded 24cm sauté pan and a 20cm frying pan, both non-stick. The saucepan lids have strainer holes, so pasta water pours straight off without a colander. Stellar sells the set for £286. Amazon UK has the same set for £159.95, sold by Horwood Homewares, the Bristol company that owns Stellar.

What is in the Stellar saucepan set

  • 16cm draining saucepan with glass lid
  • 18cm draining saucepan with glass lid
  • 20cm draining saucepan with glass lid
  • 24cm non-stick sauté pan with glass lid
  • 20cm non-stick frying pan

The range used to be called Stellar 7000. A box or listing with 7000 on it holds the same pans under the old name.

How this set differs from the Stellar Profile set with a milk pan

Stellar sells two 5 piece Profile draining sets, and both have the same three saucepans. This one swaps the 14cm milk pan and 26cm frying pan for a 24cm sauté pan and a smaller 20cm frying pan. Our page on the Stellar Profile set with the milk pan covers the other version.

The sauté pan is the reason to choose this one. It has straight sides, a glass lid and a short second handle opposite the long one, which helps when you lift it full. That makes it the pan for a risotto, a curry or a one-pan pasta, and it can finish in the oven.

How the draining lids work

Each saucepan lid is toughened glass with strainer holes on two sides. Turn the lid so the holes sit over the pouring lip, hold it down and tip the pan. The water runs out, and the pasta or potatoes stay in.

Stellar says the lids also have vents to stop the pans boiling over. Inside, the saucepans have measuring marks, so you can measure water for rice without getting a jug out.

Materials, hobs and the oven

The pans are 18/10 stainless steel with a high-conductivity base. That base spreads heat evenly across the bottom of the pan, and it works on induction as well as gas, ceramic, halogen and solid plate hobs.

The sauté pan and frying pan have a triple-layer non-stick coating, which Stellar says is PFOA free. The handles are cast steel, so the pans can go in the oven up to 240°C and the glass lids up to 180°C. All five pieces are dishwasher safe.

The drawbacks of this Stellar set

There is no milk pan, and the smallest saucepan is 16cm. Warming one mug of milk means using a bigger pan than you need.

The 20cm frying pan is small. It takes two eggs or one steak, but a fry-up for a family needs a wider pan.

The non-stick wears out first. Stellar guarantees the coating for 10 years and the stainless steel for life, so the sauté pan and frying pan are the two pieces you are most likely to replace.

Stellar's own price is the problem. At £286 it is £126.05 more than Amazon UK charges for the same set from the same company. Amazon had only five left in stock, though. If it sells out, a price tracker such as camelcamelcamel will email you when the price drops again.
