Honest Mobile UK: plans, prices and the loyalty discount

Honest Mobile is a UK SIM-only network that runs on Three and cuts your bill a little every month you stay, until it reaches 30% off. Plans start at £12.15 a month for 4 GB, and unlimited data costs £25 a month, or £22.50 on a 12 month plan. Every plan comes with unlimited UK calls and texts, 5G and five days of free EU roaming per trip.
New customers who join through a referral link get £5 credit when they activate their SIM.
What Honest Mobile is
Honest Mobile is a certified B Corporation and a mobile virtual network operator. That means it rents space on another company's network instead of building its own. In this case the network is Three, so Honest Mobile's coverage and 5G match Three's. It puts its own coverage at 99% of the UK population.
It sells two SIMs. The Classic SIM is the everyday plan, with calls, texts and data. The Smart SIM is a backup eSIM that sits alongside any main SIM, including one from another network.

Every Classic SIM plan includes unlimited UK calls and texts, 5G, wifi calling and hotspot use. On the unlimited plan, speeds drop to 3G after 750 GB in a month. You can change your data allowance in the app at any time. Honest Mobile also says it will tell you when a smaller plan would save you money.
The loyalty discount
Honest Mobile lowers your bill every month you stay, until the discount reaches 30%. So the unlimited plan works its way down from £25 to £17.50 a month, and the 4 GB plan from £12.15 to £9.45. The discount builds slowly, though, so it rewards people who keep the SIM for years rather than months.
The big networks have tended to go the other way. Honest Mobile's own comparison shows EE, O2 and Three raising prices by 7.9% to 8.8% in 2023. In 2024 the rises were 14.4% to 17.3%.
The Smart SIM backup eSIM
The Smart SIM is a data-only eSIM for more than 500 essential apps, including WhatsApp, Google Maps, Uber, Citymapper and banking apps. When your main network drops out, it keeps those apps running through EE, O2, Three or Vodafone instead. Abroad, it gives the same apps unlimited data in more than 180 countries at no extra charge.
It costs £10 a month on a rolling plan, or £45 a year, which works out at £3.75 a month. However, social media and streaming apps do not work on it, and it has no calls or texts. So it backs up a main SIM rather than replacing one.
Roaming in Europe
Classic SIM plans include five days of free roaming in the EU zone on every trip, with no limit on the number of trips. From day six it costs £2 a day. While you are away you use your normal allowance, up to 20 GB a month. Calls and texts to EU numbers cost 7p a minute or 7p a message. Outside the EU, you switch on world roaming in the app and pay standard rates, or lean on the Smart SIM for essential apps.
Who Honest Mobile suits
- People who stay put: the loyalty discount only adds up if you keep the SIM for a long time.
- Unlimited data users: £22.50 to £25 a month at the start, falling towards £17.50.
- Travellers outside Europe: the Smart SIM covers essential apps in more than 180 countries for a flat fee.
- Anyone with patchy signal at home or work: the Smart SIM can switch essential apps to the other UK networks.

The limits
The small plans cost more than some rivals at the start. For example, 4 GB at £12.15 a month is double the £6 that giffgaff charges for 2 GB on a monthly rolling plan. The gap only narrows as the loyalty discount builds.
Coverage is Three's. If Three is weak where you live or work, Honest Mobile will be weak there too, unless you pay for the Smart SIM as well.
Free EU roaming lasts five days per trip. After that, a two-week holiday adds £18 in daily charges.
The Smart SIM covers a fixed list of apps, so it will not stream video or load social media when your main signal goes.
