The iPhone 18 Pro UK price starts at £1,199 for 256GB and runs to £2,499 for a 2TB Pro Max. Pre-orders open at 1pm on Saturday 12 September, and the phones reach buyers on Friday 18 September. Apple also put £100 on four older iPhones the same evening, which I covered in my round-up of the whole keynote. This page is the price list.

Apple published the UK figures about an hour after the keynote finished on 9 September 2026, and I read every one of them off apple.com/uk that evening.

Every iPhone 18 Pro UK price, tier by tier

Eight configurations across two sizes, and a 2TB option that did not exist last year.

Apple has kept the two Pro sizes and added a fourth storage tier to each. Every price below links to that exact configuration on Apple's UK store, so the number and the page it opens agree. All eight were read on 9 September 2026.

The jump from 512GB to 1TB costs £400 on both models, which is twice what the first upgrade costs. So the 512GB tier is where the ladder stops being reasonable, and 2TB is £1,200 above the entry price on the Pro Max. Apple's monthly figures come from its own 30-month interest-free plan, and they are the same numbers the store shows beside each tier.

Pre-order and release dates, in UK time

Two launches, five weeks apart.

Apple's own UK page puts it plainly: "Pre-order from 1:00 pm on 12th September. Available from 18th September." The store page confirms that the 1pm is BST rather than an unconverted Pacific time, so there is no early-morning alarm to set this year. Pre-orders therefore open on a Saturday lunchtime, and the phones land on the Friday six days later.

The foldable runs on a separate clock. Apple's Duo page reads "Pre-order from 1:00 pm on 16.10. Available from 23.10", which puts pre-orders on Friday 16 October and delivery on Friday 23 October. In other words, anyone choosing between the two has five weeks to think about it, and the Pro will be in shops long before the Duo is.

Colours, and what actually changed

Four finishes, one genuinely new camera part, and a battery claim with a number attached.

The iPhone 18 Pro comes in Burgundy, Glacier, Silver and Black. Burgundy is the deep red that leaked all summer as "dark cherry", and Glacier is the pale blue. Both sizes get all four.

The variable aperture

The 48MP Fusion Main camera now steps through four apertures, from ƒ/1.48 down to ƒ/4.0, and picks between them automatically. That is a moving part in the lens rather than a software mode. It is also the only change here that a rival cannot copy in a firmware update. Alongside it sit a 48MP Fusion Telephoto and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide, giving what Apple calls a 16x optical-quality zoom range.

Battery, chip and the parts that carried over

Apple quotes up to 43 hours of video playback on the Pro Max, which is six hours more than the iPhone 17 Pro Max managed. Wired charging reaches 50 per cent in around 15 minutes. Those are Apple's own test conditions rather than mine, so treat them as a ceiling.

The A20 Pro. Apple is calling it the first 2nm chip in a phone. In practice, nobody buying a £1,199 phone in 2026 was short of speed. The useful part of a smaller process is the battery figure above rather than the benchmark.

Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, put the pitch this way in the launch release: "With iPhone 18 Pro, we've made advancements to the areas our users care about most: camera, performance, battery, and intelligence."

What has not changed is the shape. The body, the aluminium and the camera plateau carry over from the iPhone 17 Pro, and the Dynamic Island has been redesigned rather than removed. Under-display Face ID did not arrive.

Is the iPhone Duo worth it

It is the most expensive iPhone ever sold here, and it has the weaker camera system of the two new phones.

Start with what you are buying. The Duo opens to a 7.6-inch screen, which Apple says is 50 per cent larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max display. Folded, the 5.4-inch outer screen still carries more than 90 per cent of the iPhone 18 Pro's screen area, so it works as an ordinary phone rather than a compromise. Apple also rates it IP68 to six metres, a stronger water claim than any folding phone has carried before. Battery life runs to 31 hours of video on the inner screen and 44 hours on the outer one.

Then look at the camera. The Duo has two rear lenses, a 48MP Fusion Main and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide. A 2x crop from the main sensor stands in for a telephoto, so Apple quotes a 4x optical-quality zoom range against 16x on the iPhone 18 Pro. The phone that costs £800 more therefore takes worse pictures at anything beyond arm's length, and that gap is not subtle.

It is also 254 grams, which is five grams heavier than the Pro Max and about 43 grams heavier than the standard Pro. Apple has published neither a crease specification nor a hinge cycle count. So until independent reviewers have spent months folding one, nobody outside Apple knows how it ages.

Who it suits. Someone who reads, draws or works on two apps side by side, and who would otherwise carry a phone and a small tablet. The screen genuinely replaces a second device. Anyone buying it mainly to photograph things is paying a premium for a downgrade.

What every other iPhone costs now

Apple repriced the phones it kept on the same evening, so the whole ladder moved.

Four models went up by £100 each on keynote night, and the iPhone 17 Pro left Apple's store altogether. I went through why in my round-up of the Surprise and Shine event. What matters on a price page is where the ladder sits now, so here it is, read on 10 September 2026.

Two things follow from that list. There is no standard iPhone 18 under the Pro, so the newest generation starts at £1,199 rather than at the £899 the iPhone 17 opened at last year. And because Apple has dropped the 17 Pro, the usual trick of buying last year's Pro at a discount now means buying it refurbished.

Who should skip the iPhone 18 Pro

There is no standard iPhone 18 this autumn, so the entry fee for a new-generation iPhone is Pro money.

Anyone on an iPhone 17 Pro. You get a variable aperture, six more hours of video and a faster chip. Set against £1,199, and against a phone you can no longer trade in at Apple for more than £725, that is a thin case. Waiting a year costs you very little.

Anyone who wants the cheapest new iPhone. That is now the iPhone 17e at £699, which is £100 more than it was last week. Nothing cheaper is coming this autumn, because Apple has not made a standard iPhone 18 to sit under the Pro. My iPhone 17 versus 17e comparison goes through what the cheaper phone gives up.

Anyone tempted by the 2TB tier. £2,499 buys a Pro Max with storage most people will never fill. iCloud storage at 2TB costs £8.99 a month, so the £1,200 gap between 256GB and 2TB pays for roughly eleven years of it.

Anyone whose phone still works. September pricing is the worst pricing of the year, and stock settles by November. Even so, if your battery is the problem rather than the phone, an Apple battery service costs a fraction of any of this.

Trade-in and refurbished, if £1,199 is the sticking point

Two routes, and the second one widened this week.

Apple's own trade-in scheme offers between £25 and £855 for an iPhone. Its top figures on 9 September were £855 for an iPhone 17 Pro Max, £725 for a 17 Pro, £515 for an iPhone Air and £485 for an iPhone 17. Those are ceilings for a mint device, so the number you are quoted will usually be lower.

Refurbished is where the £100 rise actually helps you. On Back Market's UK site on 9 September, a refurbished iPhone 16 started at £515 against £799 for the same phone new from Apple, a gap of £284 that was £220 last week. An iPhone 16 Plus started at £499 and an iPhone 16 Pro at £591. Because those listings move daily, treat them as the shape of the discount rather than a quote.

Which iPhone 18 Pro storage size should I buy?

256GB suits most people, and 512GB is the sensible step up at £200 because the next rung doubles that. Above 512GB the ladder gets steep: 1TB adds £400 and 2TB another £600. Who it suits is anyone shooting a lot of ProRes video, since that is the one use that fills a terabyte quickly.

Is the 2TB iPhone 18 Pro Max worth £2,499?

Only if you need the storage on the device itself. iCloud+ at 2TB costs £8.99 a month, so the £1,200 gap between 256GB and 2TB buys roughly eleven years of cloud storage instead. Video editors who work off the phone are the exception, because cloud storage does not help a timeline.

What is the cheapest new iPhone Apple sells?

The iPhone 17e at £699. There is no standard iPhone 18 this autumn, so nothing cheaper arrives before the spring. Consequently the cheapest way onto the newest generation is the £1,199 iPhone 18 Pro.

How much will Apple give me for my old iPhone?

Is a refurbished iPhone cheaper than waiting for a price cut?

Usually, because Apple does not cut iPhone prices mid-cycle. It raised four of them this month instead. A refurbished iPhone 16 started at £515 on Back Market on 9 September against £799 new from Apple, which is a bigger gap than any discount Apple has ever offered on the same phone.
