What the Uber referral code gets you

• 50% off 5 trips: each of your first 5 Uber trips is half price.
• Up to £5 off per trip: the saving on each trip is capped at £5, so the most you can save across the 5 trips is £25.
• New riders only: the account has to be new to Uber rides.
• Applied automatically: sign up through the link and the promotion appears in your Wallet.

Because of the cap, the discount goes furthest on shorter trips. For example, on a £10 fare you save £5 and pay £5. On a £30 fare you still save £5, so you pay £25.

How to use the Uber referral code

• Step 1: open the link on your phone. It opens the Uber app, or the App Store or Google Play if you don't have it yet.
• Step 2: create your account. Add your name, phone number, email and a payment method.
• Step 3: check the Wallet. The invite promotion shows under Promotions, with its expiry date.
• Step 4: book your first ride. The fare estimate shows the discount before you confirm.

If you installed the app another way, add the code z3cft3agvfsz as a promotion in the Wallet before you request your first trip. Uber's help page says the code has to be on the account before that first trip.

Who can use this Uber referral code

Uber's UK terms say a discount code can only be redeemed by new users of the app on their first ride or rides. Its help page adds that the new rider must never have used Uber Rides before. So, an old account you set up and never used may still rule you out.

You also need a payment method on the account. In addition, Uber's terms say codes can't be combined, so the invite won't stack with a second promo code.

How Uber's referral programme works

An Uber referral code is an invite that an existing rider shares with someone new. When the new rider joins through it, Uber adds the discount to their account. In return, the person who shared it gets 50% off their own next 5 trips, also capped at £5 a trip. On 7 October 2026 the app said that reward lasts 30 days after the friend's first trip.

Once you have an account, the app gives you your own code to share in the same way.

The limits

The £5 cap matters most on long or airport trips, where half the fare would be well over £5. In that case, you save £5 per trip rather than half.

Uber sets the offer and can change or end it. The app shows the current version in your Wallet before you book, so check it there. Uber's UK terms also say that if a ride costs less than the discount, the rest does not roll over, and that a promotion depends on drivers being available.

Uber Eats is a separate offer

For regular riders, Uber One is Uber's membership. Uber's Uber One page lists 5% back in Uber One credits on most trips and 10% on Exec and Lux trips, and the credits expire 60 days after Uber issues them.

Get cashback on Uber with gift cards
