The Itch link on this page is a referral link. If you sign up through it, I get a referral reward at no extra cost to you. Itch does not choose what I say about it.

What Itch is

Itch is a pet wellness company that sells its own flea and worming treatments on subscription. You fill in a short questionnaire about your pet. Itch then works out the dose from the animal and its weight. The right pipette arrives each month, so you do not have to remember to buy one.

The flea treatment is a spot-on liquid. It uses fipronil and (S)-methoprene, the same two active ingredients found in Frontline Plus. Fipronil kills adult fleas, ticks and lice, and methoprene stops flea eggs and larvae from developing. Itch says it kills adult fleas within 24 hours.

How the Itch discount code works

  1. Open our referral link and enter your email address.
  2. Itch sends you a unique code for 20% off a future order.
  3. Set up an Itch Flea subscription for your pet. The first month of treatment is free.
  4. Use the 20% code on a later order.

The referral offer covers subscription orders for one pet. It cannot be combined with another discount or used against Itch's introductory offers.

Who Itch suits

  • Owners who forget the monthly dose: the treatment turns up when it is due.
  • Households with more than one pet: each pet gets its own dose, and the free first month covers up to three pets.
  • Dog owners: Itch offers dog subscribers a free personalised smart tag with a lost dog service.
  • Anyone paying vet prices for routine flea treatment: £8.50 to £10.50 a month, delivered, is easy to compare against your vet's bill.

If you are also weighing up cover for vet bills, our guide to pet insurance in the UK compares the main policies.

The limits

The first month is not completely free. Itch charges £3.49 postage on the first order for each pet. After that, the subscription renews at the full monthly price.

Itch's own website already offers the free first month to every new customer. So the extra value of the referral link is the 20% code for a later order.

If you still see fleas after a couple of months of treatment, ask a vet about a prescription product instead.

A spot-on is not right for every animal. Itch's doses start at 1kg for cats and 2kg for dogs. Check with Itch's vet team before treating a very young, pregnant or unwell pet.

Where to get Itch in the UK

Itch sells direct from its own website. Its support team answers on WhatsApp, email and phone on weekdays from 8am to 4pm. The Veterinary Medicines Directorate authorises its flea and worm treatments, and you can look up the data sheet for each one in the VMD product information database.

Cat owners setting up a monthly routine might also like our page on KatKin fresh cat food, which also arrives on subscription.
